RTA: What was the story in forming the band?

Sepsiss: We formed the band in 2010 and shortly after creating the act and playing shows across New England, the band went on a hiatus while members Goodbarz and Savant completed sentences in NH state prison. Melissa and William continued to manage the band from the inside, writing music and drawing stage plots on napkins in the visiting room. In 2018, the band joined with guitarist Cam Loud to create the professional line up. Our demos encouraged a creative relationship with Producer Glen Robinson and since singed a record โ€œAlmost 11โ€œ to pavement/ the orchard in 2020 moving forward to win our second regional award, HardRock/Metal Act 2021 at the New England Music Awards. Newest member compiling the six-piece line up joining Johnny Impact in the rhythm section is drummer Joe Mercy.

RTA: What is the inspiration in your music?

Sepsiss: Our music is inspired by the tradition of human generated live music, honest and professional art, physical and sonic storytelling to improve the quality of human healing and experience.

RTA: Last album/EP/single release?

Sepsiss: We just released a new single โ€œYesterday isnโ€™t Meโ€œ, May 1st 2022

RTA: Any upcoming music releases? When?

Sepsiss: ๐Ÿ˜‰ we will have several releases leading up to our second album this year.

RTA: Dogs or cats?

Sepsiss: Dogs

RTA: One story youโ€™d like to share about the band?

Sepsiss: We are all Irish, English and African.

RTA: What is a venue you always wanted to perform in? Why?

Sepsiss: We truly wouldnโ€™t know we havenโ€™t been able to afford exploring much out of the general east coast. Itโ€™s hard to feed everyone on the road and a lot of venues donโ€™t pay small bands to play. In most cases we want to play places that are a good fit for our fans and band. We hope to play places that share our enthusiasm pushing new acts and want to showcase and work with band at our level.

RTA: What artist(s) would you want to tour with, big or small?

Sepsiss: We want to play and tour with as many growing and smaller bands as we can. This effort would be to grow with and alongside other new and growing bands. Together we can cut out scammers, middle men and rock stars charging a fee. Smaller Bands growing after bigger bands is an outdated practice. We want to complete with larger bands if possible.

RTA: What is the song of yours that means the most to you?

Sepsiss: It is not out yet itโ€™s called RR

RTA: What is the single most aspect you donโ€™t like about the music industry and how would you change it?

Sepsiss: That in 2022 โ€ฆ another artist, media group, manager label, chart system, promoter or venue can validate or authentic you as a professional or successful person. The music is full or role players all trying to convince you and sell you that the idea that the music industry is an industry of contacts.

RTA: What would be some advice youโ€™d want to tell startup artists just entering the music industry?

Sepsiss: Get your check book ready and own everything.

RTA: What was your most memorable performance?

Sepsiss: The first show after Covid lock downs because we hadnโ€™t seen each other in 2 years. We survived. I mean that is important.

RTA: How fun is it to film music videos?

Sepsiss: We like to take a lot of risks and break a ton of rules. Itโ€™s our favorite!!

RTA: WOW, You guys have an exciting story. Itโ€™s these kinds of experiences that give life to our passions.  Iโ€™m glad you never gave up on your dreams, and congratulations on your awards, well deserved jewels in your crowns. Weโ€™re anxiously awaiting this new album when it comes out. I know the New England area is a long way from the Mid-West, but hopefully in the future you can tour the country and we can enjoy one of your live shows in person. Best of luck in all you do. Rock on and have a wicked summer!
