RTA: Nice mix of artists there! That list makes for a perfect, relaxing weekend!
What was the story in forming the band?
Longcoats: Ollie and Arthur have played in previous bands, when Ollie moved back to the south west they started Longcoats. It had a different rhythm section for the first year and has settled on the current line up.
RTA: Well, we couldnโt agree more that this lineup works great!
What is the inspiration in your music?
Longcoats: We like to make nostalgic feel good tunes with personal lyrics and lots of cultural references. To other bands that developed the genre and pop culture from the last 60 years.
RTA: We definitely pick that up in the lyrics and we hope there will be lots more to come!
Favorite movie(s)?
Longcoats: Sexy beast, Cat in the Hat, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Terminator 2, Breakfast Club, Life Aquatic, Spider-Man 2 (Sam Raimi), The Godfather, Drive
RTA: Epic lineup there! When we arenโt listening to rock at work, we usually are watching moviesโฆitโs probably why no work actually gets done here!

Longcoats: The Hundred Club – London, itโs a legendary venue
RTA: The Hundred Club, you hear that? Have your people contact their people! Next time any of us are in London, weโll check it out!
What artist would you want to open for you, big or small?
Longcoats: Padrat, the front man Ellis has acted as a stand in drummer and bassist for us and is a close friend
RTA: Nothing better than friends and family! We bet Bossman would like dependable people to fall back on when neededโฆbut no one here matches that description!
Dogs or cats?
Longcoats: Both
RTA: We gotta stop hiring writers of the street!
One story youโd like to share about the band?
Longcoats: After a live set at the Bath Spa University TV Studios we were walking back to the cars and Arthur was admiring the field of sheep on the way. To the point that he walked head first into a lamppost!
RTA: Ha Ha! We wish we could say weโve never done that before. Bossman says he walked into a sign post while at the zoo. Now that he thinks about it, he was looking at some Rocky Mountain Sheep. There must be something about sheep that makes people walk into thingsโฆwe need to research this more.
What is the song of yours that means the most to you?
Longcoats: They all mean a lot for various reasons, but โDragโ was the song that got people listening in the first place which is really important to us
RTA: Excellent song, and one of our favorites!
