What are your favorite artists (not yourself)?
Artifas: Red, Karnivool, Sevendust, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Periphery, Issues, Incubus, Avenged Sevenfold
RTA: Just confirming you are not Steven from New Accounts, that’s all he listens too and there is nothing wrong with that! Seriously though, that’s quite the lineup, and we all love it!
What was the story in forming the band?
Artifas: The band was formed in 2011 by West TN music scene friends Scottie Somerville and Cody Criswell. After playing the same circuit in their local area, they decided to join forces. After releasing an EP and doing some touring the band replaced several members, which saw the arrival of bassist Anthony Mattox, drummer Jared Wainscott, and guitarist Michael Miller. The band would spend a few years on the road together before writing their first full length record and hitting the studio.
RTA: We hope there are many more albums to come! Love the lyrics, beats, solos, everything. Great work, and it boggles our minds how you guys aren’t on major tours. We’ll help change that.
What is the inspiration in your music?
Artifas: The goal of our music and part of the thought process we use to write our music is based on the idea that we are all just human and have much more in common than you might think.
RTA: We couldn’t agree more. We only want to live our lives and rock and roll…and not pay rent!
What are your favorite movie(s)?
Artifas: The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Rockstar, Back to the Future
RTA: Those are all Bossman’s favorites. Maybe you are him in disguise? Well, this goes along with your music inspiration, we all have a lot more in common than you might think!

Any upcoming music releases? When?
Artifas: New record coming out this year!! Self produced and recorded. No release date yet, but we’ll be making announcements soon.
RTA: We can’t wait! Do you have an inkling of when? We have to know when to book the pony for the release party!
What is a venue you always wanted to perform in? Why?
Artifas: Red Rocks! It’s so beautiful!
RTA: You aren’t sucking up to us since Red Rocks is kinda our “hometown” venue, right? Bossman says we can blow our annual promotion budget of $20 to make this happen! Honestly though, he’ll at least buy us all tickets when you play there.
What artist would you want to open for you, big or small?
Artifas: I’m not really sure about open FOR us, but I know some bands we’d really like to open for ourselves: Nine Inch Nails, Sevendust, Korn
RTA: Excellent artists! They’d be lucky to tour with you!
Bossman: Funny enough, first time I was able to see NIN in concert was at Red Rocks.

RTA: Yeah, cats are the devil. Just don’t tell Jerry from Shipping (he has like 15).
One story you’d like to share about the band?
Artifas: We met this super chill cat named Mike at a show in Clarksville one time. He dug our jams so he got us a show in Japan. We flew over there and played with a ton of super dope bands and they treated us like we were way cooler than we actually are. We got to hang out with US Military members at the Kadina AirForce Base and hear their awesome stories, eat sushi, and get genuinely messed up with them. It was one of our favorite experiences.
RTA: Ha! That makes our lives so lame, next question… Honestly, that is pretty awesome. Janice the VP says she always wanted a random guy to fly her to Japan and party.
What is the song of yours that means the most to you?
Artifas: There’s no way we could pick just one! That’s crazy! But we do tend to have favorites within the group sometimes.
RTA: Well, our court appointed, in-house phycologist says we are crazy, so there is that.
